ann cacciapaglia & roberto steel

Ann Steel was masterminded by Roberto Cacciapaglia. They recorded an untitled lp in 1979 (dedicated to the life and work of Guglielmo Marconi), of which "My time" was pulled as a single … and covered by Telex in 1980, on their "Neurovision" lp (both the English and the French version). Later on they released the disappointing "Media" 7" (1980, not on the original lp, bonus on the way too expensive cd via Recording Arts). Half Machine have reissued the lp (HMR020) on 2011-10-24 … by hipster demand, I'm sure ;-)

lesley duncan's love song

I keep getting back to this song … do you know what I mean? Lesley Duncan (née Cox) wrote and performed the original version in 1969, while Elton John's cover version from 1970 - which also features la Duncan - has made the song famous ever since … resulting in fine versions by Dionne Warwick(e) (1971), Peggy Lee (studio version d.d. 1972), etc. (Apparently, David Bowie and John Hutchinson had already recorded a demo of this song as soon as 1968-12, later to be released on the bootleg "The Forgotten Songs Of David Robert Jones".)

reiss' you

The first two albums of You - "Electric Day" (Cain 1979) and "Time Code" (Rock City 1983) - have been reissued by Bureau B, both on lp and cd - with extra tracks on the latter format only - you can hear two of the six below. Sadly You's "Scanner" 12" (on black vinyl! Cain 1981) has been overlooked as a possible source for such bonus bonanza.
