wyatt's way

"O Tannenbaum" Wyatt's way ;-) Recorded Summer 1981, released 1982-03 on "Nothing Can Stop Us" (Rough Trade) … Robert Wyatt also wrote the liner notes for a 1991 compilation of '7Ts piano pieces by Cornelius Cardew which featured "Red flag prelude" (197X). Hey and can someone please add Mr. Wyatt's interpretation to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Tannenbaum ?!? [Nope ain't gonna do it myself.]

expanded dukey stick

Can't wait for those expanded Soulmusic.com editions of George Duke's "Don't Let Go" (1978) and "Reach For It" (1977)! For the sources of the tracks below, see http://soulmusic.com/georgeduke.html … and see also http://www.jazzecho.de/musik/musikproduktdetail/product/102644/my-soul-the-complete-mps-fusion-recordings/ + http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/powered-by-kontakt/george-duke-soul-treasures/ for more of his genius!

A horrendous Rémy Tarrier (1982) via http://www.horreursmusicales.com/article-31020881.html + a 1971 Barça bonus fully documented via http://uzine.posterous.com/fever-a-la-catalana-early-black-randr-version … Olé!

kahlua caramba

Disarming really, how the Champs, after scoring a hit with their first release named "Tequila" Soundway will be releasing two more versions on 2011-12-05 … quite different from 1982's italo version by Bo Boss. Sources for the tracks below:

carol with snowy red and a machine or two

Absolutely wanted to play Carol's "Breakdown" for ya - a track I'd already mentioned in my Snowy Red post, as he's backing her on this one. The track is also on the very excellent "A Man & A Machine III" v/a 2cd. The tracks by the Cabs, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Drinking Electricity are presented here in the compilers' original sequence, just to show how well Stéphane Ritzenthaler and Philippe Pierre-Adolphe can create a musical flow, apart from having impeccable taste in eighties wave and avantgarde … Do check their "A Man & A Machine" series, I urge thee!
