roger powell's air pocket

Some solo work by Utopia keyboardist Roger Powell in the vein of Steve Hillage solo, foreshadowing Ozric Tentacles … The "Air Pocket" lp (Bearsville 1980) has been reissued by Edsel (2012-02, EDSS 1064) on a split cd with M. Frog, with a so-so single only bonus track.

flower machine's first fading yellow lp

Some tracks off Flower Machine's first vinyl outing, viz. "Fading Yellow (Timeless Pop-Sike And Other Delights - Euro 45s 1968-1972)" (2011-11, cat. no. FYLP001, limited edition of 300 copies, yellow vinyl, no inserts, 16 tracks). Way too expensive, imnsho … hence anxious to learn how forthcoming the price setting of the announced "Spanish Popsike And Other Delights" lp will be. Too greedy isn't cool, Mr. Swede! [Tracks: "No grey skies" by the Candy Choir (1968), "Nothing today" by Barry Fantoni (1966) and "Henry's coming home" by Together (aka ex Yardbirds Keith Relf & Jim McCarty, 1968).]

bullion's age of self

Grrreatt to see Bullion cover Robert Wyatt's utterly majestic "The age of self" (Rough Trade 1984) … do check its lyrics! (Heh heh, waiting for the day when Project Mooncircle release the next tribute to the one and only Bawb.)

rip gibb

At the end of Robin's reign … no more tearjerk tremolo … IM Mr Gibb (1949-12-22 > 2012-05-20). Btw: highly underrated band, those Bee Gees, cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_Where_I_Came_In_(song)
